Fully accredited wastewater solution - portapura

Portapura, the leisure sector’s most portable, compact and efficient sewage treatment plant has achieved CE approval to BS EN 12566 and carries successful structural integrity and fire testing accreditation on its range of manufacturing materials.

CE approval was achieved in mid-2018 after successfully completing rigorous test procedures at the PIA GmbH test facility in Aachen, Germany.

Test results proved an outstanding treatment efficiency of 14:19:0.7mg/ltr (BOD:Suspended solids:Ammonia) meaning the Portapura is the most efficient compact sewage treatment plant available on the market today.

Structural integrity tests in accordance with EN ISO 179-1/1eA: 2010-11, were performed to evaluate the strength of the Portapura’s GRP materials against similar GRP materials used by other manufacturers.

Three separate material samples were submitted for impact testing; Portapura GRP material (virgin unfilled resin), a GRP material containing calcium fillers and a GRP material containing sand filler.

The tests involved 12 samples of each material at a size of 80x10x5mm. The nominal pendulum energy was 15J at an impact velocity of 3.8m/s.

Results proved Portapura GRP material to be 40% stronger than the other materials tested.

Fire resistance testing in accordance with EN ISO 11925-2:210, was performed to assess ignitability of products subjected to direct impingement of flame. Portapura’s GRP material passed all practical testing to achieve the standard.

Managing director, Steve Boyer, explained the reasons for undertaking these tests; “Our customers are at the heart of everything we do and we strive to provide them with the very best products at the very best price.”

“Therefore, by successfully testing the structural integrity and fire safety of our products, it provides certified assurance that everything we manufacture meets the highest quality, environmental and health & safety standards without any compromise in cost.”
